OUR RADIANT DECAY

The Magpie knows exactly what kind of monsters haunt Elderholt, a city shrouded in endless darkness and looming fog. Briar Blackwald spends her days committing crimes as the city’s most prolific thief, under the alias of The Magpie, so she can provide food and shelter for the twenty-nine orphans under her care. But when King Amos, the tyrant king of Ashbrynn, the Kingdom of Darkness, approaches her with a deal: steal an item from the Kingdom of Light in exchange for a safe home for her orphans, she knows it is the only way she can truly repay the debts that plague her dreams each night.

Tasked to enter Calledora with the brooding Prince Silas as her escort, Briar is challenged to find a healer from the Kingdom of Light in order to heal The Hollow Plague, an incurable sickness of despair that ravishes her kingdom like rot.

Briar soon discovers that much bigger games are at play as civil war threatens the safety of those in Calledora. As she learns more about her own heritage and the origin of the Gods themselves, she realises that Calledora hides secrets beneath its light that are much darker than any shadows she’s faced in Ashbrynn.
